Our Story

2015 marked a period with the most massive movement of refugees into Europe since World War II. About 1.3 million people, mainly Middle Eastern, arrived for asylum, giving rise to PEGIDA, an anti-Islam group in Germany. PLeace Awaken was founded by Steven Jacobs, Lalitha v. Flemming and her father Karl-Friedrich by using six degrees of separation in the world of golf, entertainment and policymaking, to counter the hate, to “Please Awaken Peace.” 

In November 2015, we officially founded the international celebrity charity golf tour to bring forward change on a bigger stage. In early 2016, South African golf legend, the late Vincent Tshabalala, joined our team in search to help the violence and rape victims in South Africa. In April 2018 the first roundtable and international golf tournament was launched to tackle the violence in South Africa, setting the stage for all our future work. Our 2019 roundtable was our first victory, bringing a cause successfully before parliament, reaching the highest ranks of government. 

With several humanitarian efforts during the Covid-pandemic and the 2021 South African Riots, and assisting in breaking down the plundering of the South African Covid Fund and corruption in food parcel distribution, we got a deep insight into the broken system of today’s society. Five events onward, including a cyber-alternative for Covid times, live from dozens of different golf courses around the world, a worldwide inter-faith prayer meeting in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the launch of a new music platform for peace, we are ready to launch our Peace by Peace campaign with eighteen roundtables to tackle humanities biggest challenges from strategic locations around the world.
